This 137 piece wooden jigsaw puzzle features a 1907 painting by Gustav Klimt called Hope.

The puzzle pieces have extra exuberant swirly decorative piece shapes, designed by Seattle artist Tara Flannery and inspired by the style of the master hand-cutter John Stokes.

This puzzle is a real charmer, offering some of the very best qualities of the remarkable Artifact line. The design harmonizes so beautifully with the painting, and the individual pieces are tiny artworks in themselves. With only 137 pieces, this is a puzzle I enjoy doing in a sitting or two. The colors and patterns are captivating, and overall the balance of shape, shade, form, and image end up offering a delightful puzzling experience. In my treasured collection of Artifact puzzles, this one is a long-time favorite, and I do it at least a couple of times per year, just for the joy of contemplating the pieces as the lovely artwork takes shape.
